36. THE MINISTRY
The ministry of Jesus Christ and the New Testament
church is a ministry of service to God and His
people, and a continuation of the earthly ministry
of Jesus Christ. The ministry has the responsibility
of teaching, edifying, and overseeing the Church of
God. The ministry of Jesus Christ is a team effort
and not subject to one-man rule. The Bible outlines
the offices and job functions for the ministry of
the Church of God, and dictates high moral and
ethical conduct for all members of the ministry.

37. FELLOWSHIP
The prevalent use of the term “fellowship” appears
throughout the New Testament. It is a necessity and
requirement of the believer. Fellowship connotes the
following concepts: communion, sharing in common,
communication, partaker, partnership, and
contribution. The Spirit of God facilitates all of
these as they are expressed in the body of Christ.
The apostle John tells us that fellowship with the
Father and the Son produces the ability to
fellowship with members of Christ’s church, even
across regional and national boundaries, and across
organizational lines also.
